TORREY PINES GOLF COURSE

William P. Bell, a celebrated course architect, designed and started this renowned golf course while his son, William F. Bell, completed it in 1957. There are two different 18-hole courses offered on the property, the North and South Course. The South Course offers lavish greenery with plush trees and rough sand for both viewing pleasure and an extra challenge while playing. This course also ranked third in Golfweek’s “America’s Best Municipal Courses” in 2009. The North Course drops lower to the ocean, which adds a more vast view of the coastline. In addition to the beautiful courses, Torrey Pines offers a variety of amenities that range from a restaurant, driving range and putting green. These courses are perfect for an individual looking for a stimulating game or for someone who just wants to enjoy the great weather and scenery.

SANDPIPER GOLF CLUB

Sandpiper’s history dates back to 1938 when it was used by ARCO for oil production. Ken Hunter purchased it in 1972 and transformed it from an oil refinery to a refined golf club. Now, it is an oceanside 18-hole course that is ranked on Golf Digest’s 2015 top 40 golf courses in California. In addition to its accolades, it has hosted prestigious golf tournaments such as The PGA Tour Tournament Player Series and The LPGA Tour Santa Barbara Women’s Open. This course has more than 7,000 yards of luxurious greenery where a cool, crisp breeze is always flowing because of its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. There is also a gourmet grill and a stay and play package for those who want to make a vacation out of their golf trip. The traditional greenery accompanied by an astounding view and many commodities will make game play relaxing and enjoyable.

PELICAN HILL GOLF CLUB

If players are looking for a course with 13,525 yards of rich greenery including a pristine view of the glistening ocean, look no further than Pelican Hill. In addition to the exquisiteness of this area and view, there are two courses: The par-71 Ocean North Course and the par-70 Ocean South Course. They both offer different levels of play depending on whether the golfer is looking for a more traditional game or a more aggressive one. These courses offer a unique feature of five sets of tee boxes on every hole that vary from the challenging black tee to the easy yellow tee. This course attracts all ages and skill levels because of its versatility and beauty.

This lush course will make anyone feel like an A-list star with both its Celebrity and Players Course. These par-72 courses were added to the resort in 2006 and 2007. The courses are flowing with excellent reviews because of the streams that drift throughout its entirety as well as the immaculate view of mountains. In addition, Indian Wells has been honored with a multitude of awards ranging from being Golf Incorporated Magazine’s “Clubhouse of the Year” in 2008 to being the only 36-hole public golf resort in Golfweek’s ranking of the top 20 places to play in the entire Golden State in 2008.

RIVER RIDGE GOLF CLUB

This course caters to all age groups and skill levels with their Men’s Club, Senior’s Club, Ladies’ Club and teen and youth programs. Another way they tailor to all players is by providing custom fitted golf equipment to help all participants play their best game. This Club offers two courses: The Vineyard Course and The Victoria Lakes Course. The Vineyard Course has a front par-35 and a back par-37 course that overlooks the ocean at the highest point of elevation in Oxnard at the fifth hole. The Victoria Lakes Course is the newest addition with a par-36 course that runs on 7,081 yards of rich grass, Bermuda trees and is surrounded by a glimmering lake. This course is PGA length, which makes it necessary to have an “Amen Corner” on the 12th to 14th hole. Translation: Once an individual finishes these holes they will most likely claim victory over their competitors.
