Join the Fun and Make a Difference on World Autism Awareness Day!
On Saturday, April 2, Autism Speaks will host its largest walk, Autism Speaks Walk Los Angeles 2016 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Courtesy of Activision, the first 7,000 registered walkers will receive a free Skylanders® Power Blue SuperChargers, a limited edition action figure toy created for Autism Awareness Month. Held from 8 am to 1 pm, this fun-filled event will feature a 5K and 1.5 mi rolling start walk, kid-friendly activities, live performances and a Resource Fair with over 125 community vendors. The walk will be hosted by ABC7 Eyewitness News anchor Phillip Palmer and Univision 34 morning show host Gabriela Teissier.
Sponsors of the walk include ASPIRE Schools, Autism Treatment Network – Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Capital Group Companies Charitable Foundation, Curemark, Forever 21, LA Federal Credit Union, Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, Los Angeles Charitable Association Inc., New York Life, Skechers Foundation, Sprouts Farmers Market and Woodsmall Law Group PC. Registration and the resource fair opens at 8 a.m., the walk kicks off at 9 a.m. and the closing ceremony will begin at 12 p.m.
Walkers who raise a minimum of $150 will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
