ASICS World Series of Beach Volleyball Set For Long Beach Return after Rio
World’s Best Players Return from The Rio Olympic Games to Compete In the Sport’s Most Important Event on US Soil
The ASICS World Series of Beach Volleyball (AWSOBV) will make its highly-anticipated return to Long Beach, California, this August 23-28 featuring players returning from Rio. Now in its fourth year, the ASICS World Series of Beach Volleyball will be the homecoming event for American athletes returning from the Olympic Games.
More than 128 of the world’s top beach volleyball players competing, the event showcases many of the sport’s top stars, including 3-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings, Olympic gold medalist Phil Dalhausser, and Olympic silver medalist April Ross, upon their return from Rio.
The event will also feature a week-long sports and lifestyle festival celebrating “all things beach,” including an open competition for the public, music festival, culture and community.

Located along the sand at stadium court, these preferred seats will offer the best viewing for all the volleyball and music action. A multi-day music festival produced in partnership with iHeart Radio will feature daily performances from top artists beginning Friday, August 26, and highlighted by an evening concert Saturday evening. Past acts have included Adam Lambert, Magic!, Bleachers, Capital Cities, Eric Hutchinson, Katy Tiz, somekindofwonderful, Ryan Cabrera, Parachute, DJ Irie and more.

CELEBRITY BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT:
Celebrities and sports stars hit the beach in the annual WSOBV celebrity match, where icons from the worlds of film, television, sports and music come together to duke it out on the sand for bragging rights. Last year’s event was hosted by Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Games).
While volleyball superstars will take center stage at the AWSOBV, players of all skill levels and ages will also have the opportunity to compete in co-ed and single gender four and six-man, youth, and collegiate tournaments throughout the week.
