Downtown Santa Monica Celebrates Black History Month on Third Street Promenade

WHAT:This February, Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. (DTSM) will recognize and celebrate Black History Month on Third Street Promenade with art installations by local Black artists and a banner program to honor historic Santa Monica Trailblazers for their significant achievements and contributions to the community. DTSM will present three public art displays in storefront windows beginning Wednesday, February 10 through March 15, 2021, from A Brilliant Dummy, Shplinton, and Mira Gandy. First Female Gondolier

Gondola Adventures®, Inc. is proud to welcome our first female gondolier in Newport Beach/Orange County! For the first time in over 100 years, there will be a female sailing the waters of Newport Beach Harbor.  Joelle Dueck recently rowed her first cruise out with Gondola Adventures with 5 passengers.  Dueck says “I have always been passionate about female empowerment so this job makes sense for me. Farm Day

Over 20 Ventura County farms, ranches, nurseries and other agricultural operations, from organic to conventional, row crops to orchards, will open their doors to the public during the 7th Annual Ventura County Farm Day. On Saturday, November 9, visitors will experience a day of agricultural activities and meet the farmers who grow the food they eat. Farm Day is free to attend. Tour hours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Farm Day visitors can go online to select three or four agricultural operations (some require reservations) and then drive themselves to each location.
