For motor vehicle aficionados and those celebrating all things Irish, the second annual 2015 Westlake Village Concours D’Elegance is being held March 22, 1-5pm, at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village. Set around 20 lush acres of manicured lawns, waterfalls and colorful foliage will be vintage automobiles from prominent museums, collectors and notable celebrities.
Exhibits from the Mullin Museum in Oxnard include the 1931 Bugatti Type 54 Roadster once owned by Prince Lobkowicz of the Czech Republic and 1961 Maserati 3500GT belonging to All in the Family’s Carroll O’Connor. Lead sponsor O’Gara Coach is exhibiting Rolls Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini, Ferrari and Maserati while Galpin will display Aston Martin. Also look for the “Concours Best of Show” winners — a 1933 Packard 12 Convertible Coupe and 1966 Ferrari 275 GTS as well as European micro cars, modern exotics and other vehicles.
Also as an ongoing celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, the festivities include a special Irish menu and spirits created by executive chef Jesse Hansen at food and beverage stations around the grounds, Celtic music, and entertainment by award-winning harpist Shawna Selline performing with Eric Rigler, deemed “the most recorded bagpiper of all time.” Playing everything from the Uilleann pipes and Great Highland bagpipes to the tin whistle, you’ve probably heard Rigler’s work on movie soundtracks such as Braveheart and Titanic. He also performed Amazing Grace at President Ronald Reagan’s funeral in 2004. America’s Teaching Zoo from Moorpark College will also be there with demonstrations featuring medieval birds of prey.
A silent auction offering a variety of sports, music, car and other memorabilia, jewelry and art will also benefit this year’s recipient charity, Cornerstone Preschool in Agoura Hills.
The Four Seasons Hotel is located at Two Dole Drive, Westlake Village, at the Lindero exit on the 101 Freeway. For details and tickets, go to www.wlvconcours.com.
