Where to Eat, Stay, and Play in SoCal
The Desert Institute at Joshua Tree National Park will produce a free, family friendly program at Copper Mountain College in Joshua Tree, Archaeopalooza, to celebrate California Archaeology Month. There will be community outreach tables in the gymnasium and ongoing lectures in the adjoining lecture hall. Activities for children include a “dig box” provided by the Archaeology Division at the 29 Palms Marine Corps Base, ceramic pinch pot demonstrations by Tony Soares, and educational games with rangers from Joshua Tree National Park.
