Anchoring Oceanside’s Valentines Week is the Second Annual Oceanside Valentine 5K Run and Bike Ride. Runners enjoy a scenic coastal route, while bikers have the option of a five, 15, 25 or 50-mile ride. Oceanside’s lesser known “spiritual triangle” is a highlight of the 15, 25 and 50- mile bike rides. Riders enjoy challenging climbs and beautiful views on route to three historic and impressive spiritual landmarks: The Prince of Peace Abbey, Mission San Luis Rey, and the Rosicrucian Fellowship. At each stop, riders are celebrated with a special acknowledgement to mark the accomplishment in the form of a priest’s blessing at the Mission, a St. Benedict medal from the abbey and a token medal from the Rosicrucians. All finishers enjoy an expo that includes a beer garden, food and other family fun.
