Where to Eat, Stay, and Play in SoCal
The Agoura Hills Cultural Arts Council (CAC) is presenting a solo artist show, “Things Seen Are Mightier Than Things Heard” (from a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson), featuring renown outdoor photographer Tom Gamche. The gallery show is a retrospective of Gamache’s 45-year photography career and will include large format landscapes taken around the southwest, architecture, pop music, cultural and political images.
A highlight of the show is Gamache’s seldom-seen imperial-sized images of Santa Monica Mountain settings that were published into a book, “Range on the Edge / The Santa Monica Mountains,” with text by Matt Jaffe. A Los Angeles Times book review stated that Gamche’s photography was, “a love letter to the heart of Los Angeles.” The public will also get to see some of Gamache’s newest work from his “Pink Caddy” series, capturing the world’s most recognizable objects.
