On Thursday, June 14, The Original Farmers Market at Third & Fairfax in partnership with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center will again observe World Blood Donor Day. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the medical center’s bloodmobile bus and expert team of nurses and phlebotomists will be stationed on Gilmore Lane providing educational services and accepting blood donations. Participants will receive a “mini physical” of vital signs, which includes blood pressure and hematocrit iron testing, and access to an online portal that synchronizes prior blood donation(s) and automatically maintains a “wellness profile” where donors can verify their blood type, view donation history, and keep track of previous health assessments as a log to monitor for any patterns.
