The Kimpton Hotel Solamar launches the “Brews on the Roof” series, a monthly beer tasting event showcasing San Diego’s best craft breweries to locals and guests.
Held on the hotel’s famed LOUNGESix rooftop, the Kimpton Hotel Solamar will host an array of local breweries, offering an opportunity for attendees to sample different local beers, including their new varietals. They will also meet the brewers, discuss tasting notes and learn more about the breweries. In addition, attendees will be able to experience custom food pairings from JSix Restaurant’s new Executive Chef Anthony Sinsay.
“With San Diego ranked as one of America’s top microbrew cities, craft beer has become ingrained into every aspect of the city’s culture, as well as the hotel’s programming and amenities,” said Shannon Foster, general manager of the Kimpton Hotel Solamar. “The new series will not only offer locals the opportunity to support their favorite breweries and experience new ones, but also give our guests a chance to get a taste of the best local beers and flavors without ever leaving the comfort of the hotel.”
Kimpton Hotel Solamar launched Wednesday, Nov. 9, timed with San Diego Beer Week, with Mission Brewery—which featured three limited release brews. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet Lead Brewer Bobby Oliver.
Guests visiting Hotel Solamar have full access to Hotel Palomar San Diego’s notorious Beer Concierge, who can direct visitors to the best beer ‘hot spots’ in the area and beer/food pairings.
The “Brews on the Roof” event series is free and is open to the public and hotel guests. It will be held monthly at the Kimpton Hotel Solamar’s LOUNGESix rooftop, located at 435 6th Avenue in downtown San Diego.
