The Foundation for Animal Care and Education (FACE) hosted its 7th annual Invitational Golf Tournament benefitting San Diego pets in need of life-saving veterinary care on Veteran’s Day, November 12th. The tournament raised over $163,500 for pets and their families.

The tournament was held at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club in Solana Beach in San Diego County. A unique twist to the average golf tournament, players brought their pups onto the course for a great day of fun with their best canine friends. Special VIP guests MLB legend Fred Lynn and PGA Major Tournament Champion Corey Pavin were in attendance, as well as ABC 10News Sportcaster Ben Higgins who acted as the evening’s auctioneer and emcee.

In celebration of Veteran’s Day, FACE’s Golf Tournament was dedicated to our service men, women and dogs. After the tournament, guests enjoyed dinner with special grantee guests Luis and Jax, a veteran and service-dog pair who were hit by a drunk driver in 2018. Thankfully, FACE was able to assist the two in their time of need. Jax and Luis’ story was shared as a special video premiered at the event, which is now available on FACE’s website.

FACE Foundation was created in 2006 to combat the problem of “economic euthanasia” – the tragedy that occurs when pet owners are forced to euthanize their beloved companion animals because they cannot afford emergency veterinary care. To date, FACE has saved the lives of over 2,260 local pets by providing financial grants in partnership with over 165 veterinary partners throughout San Diego County.
