Celebrating its 15th year, Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week returns to the Coachella Valley from Friday, June 2, through Sunday, June 11, with 10 days of dining deals at local restaurants.
With the valley’s current culinary explosion in full swing, there will be nearly 40 new restaurants participating, including Azure Palm Café, Mitch’s on El Paseo Prime Seafood, Peaks Restaurant at Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, Reforma Palm Springs and The Hideout Kitchen + Bar.
Arguably one of the best restaurants in the valley, Workshop Kitchen and Bar will offer a masterfully curated three-course dinner menu for $65 that includes a choice of fruit and burrata, miso caramel sweet potato, ricotta gnocchi with Canyon Creek oyster ragu or scarlet runner beans to start. Plate options to follow include English pea risotto, black cod with smoked and pickled carrot, duck fried rice and steak au poivre with market vegetables. Then there’s flourless chocolate torte with mango sorbet and pink peppercorn shortbread or housemade ice cream for dessert.
If you’re a mussel fanatic, stop into Pomme Frite French bistro, where the mussel menu features mollusks prepared in no less than eight different ways according to regions across the globe. The restaurant prix fixe $59 three-course dinner menu includes Mediterranean mussels au gratin, Lyonnaise salad with frisee and lardons, a seafood stew bouillabaisse, and crepes Suzette and profiteroles for dessert.
Over at the new Hideout Kitchen + Bar at the Gardens in Palm Desert, the delicately deep-fried avocado and buffalo milk cocktail are a must. Perched on the second floor with a view of the mountains, the restaurant week lunch menu includes a cocktail (go for the Hideout, a prickly pear margarita) as well as an appetizer (go for the avocado fries) and burger, avocado toast or pizza for the main course.
If you’re in Cathedral City, Cafe One Eleven at the Agua Caliente Casino has a $59 dinner menu that includes its sweet signature salad with baby greens, strawberries, candied pecans, goat cheese and local medjool dates in a light vinaigrette. Main choices include prime beef kebabs with Boursin mashed potatoes, chicken suizas enchiladas in a creamy poblano sauce or halibut Veracruz.

In other exciting Palm Springs restaurant news: Villa Royale, the historic hideaway in Palm Springs’ Deepwell neighborhood, has launched a new website today (villaroyale.com) and announced that it has started a $1 million refresh to enhance the property, including menu updates at Del Rey from local Bar Cecil chef Gabriel Woo. In addition, Palm Springs hoteliers Jeff Brock and Richard Crisman, world-ranked surfer Kalani Robb and entrepreneur Shaun Neff of the Palm Springs Surf Club have joined as investors.
