Kidspace Children’s Museum will host its inaugural PLAYDATE event on Saturday, July 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This after-hours fundraiser invites guests, who are 21 and over, to sip signature cocktails, wine, beer, and enjoy tasty bites from event partners. Attendees will play their way through this one-of-a-kind museum experience while supporting a good cause.
Guests will have the opportunity to dance to tunes by KCRW DJ, Dan Wilcox, ride adult- sized tricycles on the Trike Tracks, sing karaoke in Storyteller Studio, participate in an interactive performance with Rumbling Rhythms, and add their mark to the collaborative chalk mural. “Kidspace is magical at night, especially during the summer. This event will give adults the opportunity to ‘be a kid again,’ whether it’s building with our blue blocks, exploring our Climbing Towers, or joining a tug of war competition. Our unique environment will inspire them to play while they have exclusive access to the museum,” shared Kidspace Chief Executive Officer, Michael Shanklin.
Kidspace Children’s Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. In 2017, the museum served over 372,000 guests, in which 80,000 of these guests gained access through the museum’s “Kidspace for All” education and discounted admission programs. Funds raised from this event will support the following programs: Free Family Nights, Kidspace on the Road outreach programs, STEAMing through Summer activities, My Masterpieces art program for Pasadena Unified School District’s kindergarten students, and the Performance on the Frog series.
