Enjoy the host of wineries, breweries, food booths, arts and crafts, live music, dancing, lake cruises, silent auction and more during the 29th Annual Ojai Wine Festival on the scenic shores of Lake Casitas Sunday, June 14 from 12 to 4 pm.
More than 5,000 festival aficionados from throughout Southern and Central California are expected to attend the Rotary Club of Ojai West Foundation’s popular fundraiser that helps fund numerous humanitarian and community projects including the environmental science-based educational Lake Casitas Boat Tours for public schools.
Participating are 10 of Ojai’s finest restaurants from which you can purchase delectable meals to enjoy around tables or on the grassy knoll overlooking the festivities and lake panoramas. Oenophiles can select from 250 samplings by more than 60 award-winning wineries while brew buffs can taste over 30 premium craft beers and microbrews.
Live entertainment includes listening, dancing, and singing along to two live bands: Beatles tribute band Sgt. Pepper playing hits from the British Invasion and Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries, one of the country’s premier rock and roll party bands since 1972 performing favorites from the ’50s and ’60s. Also featured are arts and crafts vendors, free boat rides on Lake Casitas, and there’s a play area for small children.
VIP tickets include admittance to the exclusive lakefront VIP Canopy Lounge at 11:30 am to sample fine wines by the glass offered by Ascension Cellars, Falcone Family Vineyards, Gainey Vineyard and Barefoot Wine & Bubbly; three craft Belgian beers by Anheuser-Busch–Stella Artois, Hoegaarden or Leffe; award-winning 100 percent blue agave Tequila Los Tres Torsos and Tequila El TrueQue, and non-alcoholic beverages for designated drivers. Free hors d’oeuvres are provided by Sakura Ojai Japanese Restaurant, La Piu Bella Tavola Italian Catering, and Whole Foods Market in Oxnard. Tickets are limited and you must be 21 years old to enter.
The event site is Lake Casitas Recreation Area’s Wadleigh Arm, 11093 Santa Ana Road in Ventura. Free half-hourly shuttles are offered from Ojai by Roadrunner Shuttle and Limousine Service. Private shuttles are also available at special rates from Ojai, Ventura Train Station and selected local hotels.
