An ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award) is every athlete’s dream and today might as well be their favorite holiday. The ESPYS was featured this week on the ABC network and all sports fans had the opportunity to vote for the professionals they have spent all season rooting for. The event included a glamorous red carpet, well-dressed men and women, and a full house of talented individuals. But prior to the ESPYs there were the pre-ESPY parties and events. Luxe Life hosted a pre-ESPYS “All White Yacht Party” with professional athletes from the NFL, MLB, and NBA who attended the event and So Cal Life Mag was honored to be there. Guests included Broncos TJ Ward and Shane Ray, New York Giants Janoris Jenkins, LA Lakers Jordan Clarkson, Timberlwolves Andrew Wiggins, and many more.
The evening kicked off with a red carpet beginning at 5:30pm. Athletes arrived fashionably late and around 7:30 the evening officially began. Andre Drummond walked the red carpet in a black t-shirt and khaki pants. The 6’11 basketball star plays for the Detroit Pistons and finished fourth in NBA Rookie of the Year. Drummond was very eager to attend the event and event made a point to say, “Go Pistons!”
As guest moved away from photo ops on the red carpet they boarded the boat as the music blared. DJ Mark Da Spot was playing the latest hits with the perfect beats as the attendees hit the dance floor. The top of the yacht is where VIP sat glamorously in their designated areas. The upscale booths contained opulent chandeliers, white leather sofas, and beautiful draperies. The spectacular view consisted of the stunning harbor with reflections of the surrounding buildings in the calm evening water.
On every level of the Fantasea yacht was a fully dressed bar surrounded by hors d’oeuvres, fruit décor, Monster energy drinks, and bottles of Purple Haze Liqueur (the house drink). In addition to the drinks, the food surrounding the place was delicious. The menu for the night included an array of options from chicken skewers to sushi.
The pre-ESPY white theme was featured from jewelry to shoes as guests relished in the “all white attire” directive. Sports fans, journalists, photographers, comedians (yes, really), music lovers, family friends, and more were on board. Though from all walks of life and differing interests, one common theme prevailed: the love for sports.
