“Somebody to Love,” a Queen Rock Ballet Concert, will be debuting this Valentine’s Day at the Music Box, San Diego’s premier live music and special event venue. The one-of-a-kind event will showcase a live rendition of Queen’s timeless repertoire, featuring San Diego native, vocal powerhouse and America’s Got Talent finalist Brian Justin Crum and renowned ballet dancer and San Diego local Kirsten Bloom Allen. Tickets are now on sale for $67 through Music Box.
The powerful and iconic music of Queen, mixed with the visual element of dance, will take the audience on a multi-sensory journey through the wild, beautiful, and reckless facets of love. In addition to Brian’s powerful vocals, which captured an audience of over 17 million, “Somebody to Love” will fuse music and dance with the help of Kirsten, who has previously performed in The Kennedy Center in Washington DC with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, Shanghai, Beijing and for George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush. The show is designed to promote the unifying message of music and dance on the official day of love, Valentine’s Day.
“Somebody to Love” is brought to the stage by ARC Entertainment Company, an independent film & television company enhancing the rock concert experience with a visual element of dance, and The Dream Adopters, a leading entertainment company focused on music management for award-winning artists.
“Queen is very dear to my heart as my role as Galileo Figaro in Queen’s rock theatrical “We Will Rock You” was a big break for me,” said Brian Justin Crum. “That performance inspired me, and I hope to do the same for others with this show. Following the current excitement of Queen especially in regard to the Bohemian Rhapsody movie’s Golden Globe wins, there is no better time to pay tribute to that performance sending the message that all dreamers can defy the odds.”
“Our performance will be a feast for your senses,” said Kirsten Bloom Allen. “Guests will follow us on an exciting ride that is young, passionate and experimental as we bring to life the different forms of love through song and dance. This is a dream come-to-life for me and I am thrilled to perform the show for the very first time in this amazing city.”
Doors open on Thursday, February 14 at 7 p.m. with the show kicking off at 8 p.m. Tickets are available for ages 18+. Find yourself somebody to love and check out the new rock ballet at the Music Box this Valentine’s Day. For more information on tickets, please visit https://musicboxsd.com/.
