UNICEF is hosting a philanthropic filled night to celebrate and support all of their lifesaving work. For those looking for a fancy night out of town, this is the perfect event for you. Put on your finest attire and find the perfect mask because this is a night of glamour and mystery with a unique twist – you are helping a wonderful cause by attending this event. Old Town San Diego’s Day of the Dead
A cultural twist to the Halloween season gives us the Day of the Dead. This event may be completely unrelated to Halloween but it is celebrated the same time of the year. Día de Los Muertos is considered to be one of the most important holidays by many in Mexico and other Latin American countries. The unity between life and death is celebrated as families come together and offer hospitality to the spirits of their loved ones. Bringing in tourists from all over the state to learn about this holiday, there will be tons of entertainment, regional food, and a traditional marketplace. The celebration will be held October 28-November 2, 2017

Into the Black
Pomona Fairplex is hosting a haunted house calling all the brave souls who are willing to walk through the fully decked out house ALONE. Makeup, simulations, and props will be provided Bone Yard Effects who make the maze feel so real, children under 13 are not recommended. They even offer a special virtual reality experience to go with the house tour so you won’t want to miss this Haunt Experience.

This unique walking show is a must if you appreciate scary stories and you don’t mind having to walk through a mausoleum and cemetery to be fully immersed. Audiences will get to enjoy three short plays led by Storyguides of Wicked Lit. It should be warned that this production contains mature themes, adult language, and theatrical violence so you may want to leave the youngins at home.

Drama After Dark
The beautiful Huntington Library is hosting A Night of the Macabre with Poe and Gorey guaranteed to send chills down your spine. Grab a mug of hot cider, find a chair, and enjoy as actors of the Guild of St. George enacts the tales of Edgar Allan Poe and Edward Gorey. The moonlit grounds will be waiting for your arrival next year because this event has already been SOLD OUT due to popular demand. Peanuts The Great Pumpkin Patch Express
Share some childhood memories with your own children as you go on a train to the Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch where guests will be greeted by the cast of Peanuts. Halloween UV Paint Tacos & Beer
Calling all the art lovers! Enlightened Artistries presents a night out with rad art, delicious food (tacos), and good drinks. To tie in Halloween to the event, Halloween decorative boxes will be given as the canvas to paint on, but the cool part about this art affair is that there is a technological twist. Innovation is truly present with this idea of having each box equipped with an internal color changing battery powered LED light adding special EFX lighting to your display piece on top of the UV fluorescent paint you will be using.
