stARTup Art Fair is pleased to announce an exciting relocation from Hollywood to Venice Beach. For its third edition in Los Angeles, the fair will take over 40 rooms at The Kinney Venice Beach. The fair will take place from January 26-28 and present a series of solo exhibitions by independent artists chosen by a prestigious selection committee that includes notable artists, curators and arts professionals. stARTup Art Fair is a unique model that provides professional art fair opportunities for independent artists to present their own work, sell on their own terms, and enjoy 100% of their sales.
This winter stARTup Art Fair will transform the The Kinney hotel into an immersive, contemporary art experience through the exhibition of work by a diverse group of independent artists, local art nonprofits, performance art, installations and panel discussions. The Kinney is a new boutique hotel featuring colorful rooms, fun communal spaces, and a great location. The venue is less than a mile from the Venice Beach Boardwalk and Marina del Rey and within minutes of the Art Contemporary Los Angeles art fair located at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. On his decision to move the fair from Hollywood to Venice Beach, Director Ray Beldner states:
We feel that The Kinney will make an excellent partner in offering a unique contemporary art experience. Aside from the neighborhood’s artistic legacy and proximity to the ocean, this venue is closer to Art Contemporary Los Angeles, so art lovers can spend more time with art and less time in traffic over the weekend.
stARTup Art Fair is also pleased to announce the 2018 Selection Committee, a group of visual art professionals who will evaluate each artist application and ultimately decide on who exhibits in the Los Angeles 2018 edition.
