Creating Art for Charity: How this Entrepreneur Spends His Time Giving Back

Tom Liguori is a San Diego-based entrepreneur-turned-artist, who creates innovative large-format cell and holographic art and donates 100 percent of the proceeds to various charities. He started selling his art in March 2017 and it’s currently on display online and at Dimensions Gallery, located in San Diego’s Seaport Village. Tom Liguori is reinventing what’s possible in the art world through his innovative large format cell and holographic pieces. He grew up in the Bronx, New York and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College before relocating to the west coast to earn an MBA from San Diego State University. He and his father founded a mail order manufacturing business, National Pen, which grew to over 2,000 employees during his 32-year tenure, and worked with brands such as Disney, Warner Brothers, the NFL, NBA, and NHL. After selling National Pen, Liguori started a venture capital business and secured over two dozen patents. Liguori’s dual responsibilities of research and development and marketing during his years at National Pen catalyzed an interest in developing new art techniques as a creative outlet.
