Taste of Solvang 2017: Tempting Events Scheduled for 25th Annual Celebration

The 25th annual Taste of Solvang offers delicious delights and savory flavors from Wednesday, March 15 through Sunday, March 19, 2017. From farm-to-table, rustic wine country cuisine to New American and modern Danish fare, to iconic sweets and award-winning wines, beers, and spirits, this popular celebration features a variety of food and beverage experiences featuring Solvang area chefs, bakers, farmers, winemakers, brewers, distillers and artisans showcasing the bounty of the region.

 

The Taste of Solvang Weekend Passport includes tickets to Sip + Savor’ Opening Night with VIP Access,  Saturday’s Tasting Trail and Wine & Beer Walk plus Souvenir Wine Glass, Taste of Solvang Collectible Item, Taste of Solvang Map, Visitors Guide and Souvenir Tote all for only $110 per person; and individual events are also available ala carte. 3:00 p.m.-on Taste of Solvang: Solvang Farmers Market Chef Walks & Dining Experiences

Chef Pink of Bacon & Brine

Stroll along with Food Network TV personality Chef Pink and discover her professional insights, passion for pork & fermented foods and how she and her partner Courtney Rae established Bacon & Brine–dedicated to hyper-local sourcing to create seasonal menus 100% from scratch. The evening concludes with a delicious, gourmet meal comprised of that day’s market haul personally prepared and served by Chef Pink. ($85)

OR Chef Steven Snook of First & Oak

Enjoy a conversational walk amongst market purveyors with Chef Steven Snook, who trained under celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay, learning about produce and culinary techniques; then accompany Sommelier Jonathan Rosenson for a walking vineyard tour of his nearby Coquelicot Estate to discover grape growing, wine-making insights and sample wines; returning to First & Oak to experience Chef Steven’s gourmet four-course tasting menu. ($65 meal or $85 with paired wines)

Join 25 Santa Ynez Valley chefs, bakers, caterers, winemakers, and brewers including The Ballard Inn, First & Oak, The Landsby, Succulent Cafe, Scratch Kitchen, Valle Fresh, K’Syrah, The Lucky Hen Larder, Ingeborg’s Danish Chocolates, Olsen’s Danish Village Bakery, Wandering Dog Wines, Solvang Brewing Company, Coquelicot Estate Winery, Dascomb Cellars, Eleven Wine Bar, Ferguson Crest, Presidio Winery, Lions Peak Vineyards, Larner Vineyard and Winery, Figueroa Mountain Brewery and Ascendant Spirits and more accompanied by live music from the Sean Wiggins Band. 6:30 p.m. Early VIP entry (only available with Passport Weekend package); 7:00 p.m. regular entry; $45 ala carte ticket purchase in advance at www.solvangusa.com/taste-of-solvang-2017  or at the door.

11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: Taste of Solvang Tasting Trail features more than 32 taste stops at restaurants and retailers around the village featuring delicious bites at Aebleskiver Café, Artistic Pony Studio with El Rancho Market, Belgian Café, Birkholm’s Bakery & Café, Casa Cassara, CHOMP, Copenhagen Sausage Garden, Danish Mill Bakery, Fitzpatrick’s Tavern, Fresco Valley Café, Hummingbird Restaurant, Ingeborg’s Danish Chocolates, Mortensen’s Bakery, Old Danish Food Farm, Olsen’s Danish Village Bakery, Paula’s Pancake House, Pho 805, Red Viking Restaurant, Solvang Bakery, Solvang Coffee Company, Solvang Inn & Cottages, Solvang Restaurant, Swedish Candy Factory, The Landsby Hotel’s Mad & Vin, The Little Mermaid, The Olive House, TOSCANA Pizzeria Tapas Enoteca, Tower Pizza, Treats Women’s Boutique, Viking Garden Restaurant, Wandering Dog Wine Bar and more. Must be 21 years+ to enjoy this event. ($45) Wine & Beer Walk ticket is valid for both Saturday and Sunday.

6:00 p.m.: Buttonwood Farm Winery Winemaker Dinner at Cecco Ristorante

Join Buttonwood Farm Winery winemaker Karen Steinwachs and Cecco’s Chef David Cecchini for a locally-inspired, Italian-influenced five-course gourmet dinner comprised of seasonal, fresh ingredients paired with Buttonwood’s estate-grown wines, served amidst Cecco’s charming patio. ($90)
