Situated beneath the iconic Santa Monica hotel, The Georgian, the intimate restaurant showcases Italian steakhouse cuisine complemented by all-night live jazz & piano
The Georgian, a fixture of the Southern California coastline since 1933, is delighted to unveil the much-anticipated resurrection of The Georgian Room. This exclusive restaurant is set to reclaim its status as a coveted destination for discerning patrons seeking an unforgettable blend of sophistication, culinary delight, and live entertainment.
Having first opened its doors in 1933, The Georgian Room embodied the allure and glamor of Hollywood’s Golden Age while offering a haven for those seeking an atmosphere of exclusivity, lavish entertainment, and indulgence. The renowned restaurant became a revolving door for notables of the time including the likes of Carole Lombard, Clark Gable, “Bugsy” Siegel, Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle, Judy Garland, and has even played host to captivating performances by the likes of Dick Van Dyke. Embracing its heritage with pride, The Georgian Room will offer guests the opportunity to rekindle the magic of its illustrious bygone days. Stepping into a realm of unrivaled hospitality, culinary excellence, and a vibrant
entertainment scene that defines world-class standards.
At the heart of this sophisticated haven lies an unparalleled culinary journey. Combining Italian influences from the renowned chophouses of Tuscany with classic steakhouse accouterments, the menu is crafted by Chef David Almany, who trained under Chef Nancy Silverton for almost a decade. Showcasing an array of delectable dishes that cater to the most refined palates, highlights include the 48oz TGR Dry Aged Tomahawk Ribeye, Doppio Ravioli, Rigatoni Alla Vodka, and Chicken or Veal Parmigiana. Continuing the philosophy of the Restaurant at The Georgian situated upstairs, the culinary program at The Georgian
Room incorporates renowned vendors and exclusive partnerships unique to the property. This includes sourcing premium meats from the iconic New York meat purveyor Pat La Frieda and an exclusive caviar collaboration with Thomas Keller’s Regiis Ova.
Furthermore, the beverage program boasts exceptional collaborations with globally acclaimed partners, resulting in meticulously crafted handcrafted cocktails featuring top-tier spirits, masterfully curated by Bar Manager Jerom Morris. Complementing this is an Italian-focused wine selection curated by Wine Director Kristin Olszewski. As an exquisite offering, The Georgian Room presents a unique Reserve Wine List featuring exclusive allocations from esteemed producers like Bartolo Mascarello and Emidio Pepe.
Developers Jon Blanchard and Nicolo Rusconi of BLVD worked off vintage photographs to restore the space, honoring elements of its original design with an L-shaped layout of booths. The team enlisted Tom Parker, Co-Founder at design firm Fettle, in order to meticulously rekindle the magic of the hotel’s classic era. The Georgian Room boasts bespoke patterns and meticulously curated seating arrangements. Upon entrance, visitors will encounter a 1918 ebony polished Steinway & Sons piano built into the Italian-Quartzite-topped bar. Vibrant artwork covers the walls, including prints of The Georgian Room’s original menus from its initial opening decades ago, providing a striking backdrop to the racing green leather booths. Underfoot, a custom-designed carpet showcases a mermaid sipping a martini, perfectly encapsulating The Georgian Room’s atmosphere of playful sophistication and occasional revelry.
Open Thursday to Saturday, each evening will feature a carefully curated lineup of talented performers around the grand piano, enchanting listeners with soulful melodies and captivating voices. Late night jazz and thoughtfully crafted musical performances at The Georgian Room evoke a sense of nostalgia while embracing contemporary elegance.
The Georgian Room accommodates only 65 guests at a time, ensuring an atmosphere of privacy and intimacy. A sanctuary away from prying eyes, this hidden gem sets the stage for an enchanting experience where secrets are shared, laughter resonates, and memories are forged. To preserve the intimacy of this exclusive atmosphere, The Georgian Room strictly prohibits photography and the use of cell phones. Patrons are encouraged to immerse themselves fully in the ambiance, creating memories that will forever remain treasured and only shared through the art of conversation.
