3rd Annual VinDiego Wine & Food Festival

Elite winemaking masters from California and Oregon’s finest wineries will gather for the 3rd Annual VinDiego Wine & Food Festival in San Diego April 10-11. Presented at the NTC Liberty Station in Point Loma, wine buffs and foodies can savor more than 300 samplings from award-winning wines, delectable food and appetizers from some 20 of San Diego’s finest restaurants, and enjoy upbeat performances by live musicians. Also participating are exclusive Paso Robles CAB Collective Member wineries known for their high-quality Cabernet and Bordeaux blends.

The VinDiego Special Sunset Rare and Reserve Tasting on Friday, April 10, will be held 6:00-8:30 pm at The McMillin Event Center, 2875 Dewey in Liberty Station. You’ll be welcomed with a champagne reception with live jazz music and up to 30 wineries providing rare and reserve-level wines, some of which are no longer in distribution. Others are proprietor’s reserves and end-of-vintage wines. Possible selections may include Napa trophy Cabernets; rare bottles from Sonoma, Santa Cruz, Lodi and the Central Coast’s Paso Robles region, Pinots from Oregon and Santa Barbara County, and more. Hot and cold appetizers include charcuterie, artisan cheeses and breads.

Accommodating a maximum of 350 guests, the event also includes a silent auction featuring fine bottles of wine with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank. Each month, the organization provides food to 370,000 individuals and families in need throughout San Diego County via 330 nonprofit partners and neighborhood distributions.

The VinDiego Grand Tasting Event, 4:00-7:00 pm Saturday for general admission or 3:00-7:00 pm for VIP attendees, features nearly 325 top award-winning as well as artisan gold-medal producers’ ultra-premium wines. General admission is $95 per person. VIP tickets, with admittance to the VIP tent an hour early, run $125 each.
